I. Solution Overview

West-HN's Tunnel Personnel 2.4G Zone Positioning System is a perception-based positioning system utilizing the principle of long-range identification. It automatically identifies and provides zonal positioning for personnel tags entering designated areas. When personnel wearing positioning tags enter a specific zone, the monitoring center server can detect their current zone in real-time and display it on the zone map. The system features a card reading speed of 200 tags/second, an adjustable reading distance from 0 to 100 meters, and zero missed tags. It provides management with functions such as real-time personnel statistics by zone, personnel/vehicle attendance tracking, real-time map display, hazardous area alarms, real-time statistics on LED displays, post-disaster emergency rescue, and daily management. This helps management identify and improve weak links, preventing construction safety incidents.
Within the tunnel, personnel positioning is sensed by 2.4G positioning base stations, uploaded to the monitoring center server, and processed by software to display the real-time location of personnel inside the tunnel on a system map, enabling real-time monitoring of personnel distribution.

II. Objectives of Tunnel Positioning

  • Ensure tunnel construction safety and progress.
  • Restrict personnel entry/exit and dwell time in special areas to enhance safety management.
  • Display real-time personnel dynamic information for effective personnel management.
  • Reduce manual attendance workload and improve employee attendance rates.

III. System Architecture

The main components of West-HN's Tunnel Personnel 2.4G Zone Positioning System are: 2.4G Positioning Base Stations, 2.4G Positioning Tag Cards, and Software Management Terminal.

Data Transmission: Can be achieved via wireless bridges, fiber optics, Ethernet, etc.

V. System Features and Characteristics

Non-Precise Positioning Inside Tunnel:

Utilizes advanced 2.4G technology, ensuring accurate tag count with zero misses.
Employs Time-of-Flight signal calculation method, estimating distance between device and tag via RSSI value.

Personnel Positioning in Tunnel Hazardous Areas:

Positioning base stations are installed on the secondary lining trolley or waterproofing trolley.
When personnel pass through the secondary lining trolley to enter the waterproofing or excavation trolley, the base station accurately counts and displays personnel numbers and location information.

Real-time Map Display of Personnel Distribution:

Map displays real-time installation locations of positioning base stations and current distribution of construction personnel.
Map shows device warning information and operational status.

Synchronized LED Display Showing Personnel Inside Tunnel:

Personnel information is registered via software during initial card issuance.
Tunnel entrance LED screen synchronously displays personnel information from positioning base stations inside (e.g., name, entry time, current location, contact number).

Simple Installation of Positioning Base Stations:

Base stations feature integrated design (including power supply, power box, bracket, bridge positioning device), providing a camera mounting position and power interface.
Installation only requires fixing the position and connecting to 220V power supply.

Automatic Attendance for Construction Personnel Entering/Exiting Tunnel:

Combines positioning base stations with entrance attendance devices; software automatically generates various reports for convenient daily management.
Provides attendance days for personnel, statistics on numbers of personnel per team/type, exportable to Excel.

Supports Various Data Query Functions:

Data can be queried based on multiple conditions (e.g., personnel name, time, construction unit, job type).
Entry/exit times for key areas, current number of construction personnel, total personnel on site, etc.

Command Center Can Issue Evacuation Orders:

The command center can issue evacuation orders to construction personnel inside the tunnel. Upon receiving the evacuation alarm signal, personnel tags facilitate timely evacuation from the tunnel.

VI. Positioning Base Station Installation Specifications and Examples

A single 2.4G zone personnel base station covers 100 meters. Two installation points are required, on the secondary lining trolley and the waterproofing trolley respectively. One positioning base station and a pair of wireless bridges are installed on the secondary lining trolley. The bridge facing the tunnel entrance receives signals from the entrance bridge; the bridge facing the tunnel interior transmits signals to interior devices. The positioning base station and relay bridge are connected via network cable. The base station front faces the tunnel wall at a 45-degree angle towards the entrance. The base station is powered by a 12V power adapter, with the power supply placed in a waterproof box. All cables must be routed through conduits and securely fixed.

One positioning base station and one receiving bridge are installed on the waterproofing trolley. The base station front faces the excavation face, with network connection to the trolley's switch interface. The device is powered by a DC12V/1.5A adapter, with the power supply placed in a waterproof box. All cables must be protected by conduits.

VII. Software Introduction

Tunnel construction is high-risk work. This system locates personnel in the area, queries their identity, quantity, and distribution, and tracks their actual location and movement轨迹. Positioning accuracy depends on the base station and tag type. The system supports adding auxiliary markers, setting work zones, hazardous areas, historical playback, and other functions.
