The Concept of IDC

Internet Data Center, abbreviated as IDC, plays a crucial role in today's information age. It is a key infrastructure for storing and processing massive amounts of data. The IDC data center room is the core of modern enterprise IT infrastructure, hosting the enterprise's core business data and application systems. It not only provides secure data storage and efficient processing but also offers high availability and disaster recovery capabilities, ensuring business continuity and stability.

IDC Incident Cases

Data centers are the most critical support for the normal operation of enterprises, institutions, and governments. Once a problem occurs in a company's data center, it can even directly lead to the paralysis of the entire enterprise. However, due to inadequate risk management and control, data center incidents occur frequently, with numerous cases of significant losses still fresh in memory.

On May 5, 2021, a fire broke out in the Shenzhen data center of a well-known listed Chinese data center company. Over a hundred servers belonging to a single major client were destroyed. Online reports about the incident were suppressed by the company.

On March 10, 2021, a severe fire occurred at a data center of OVH, a major European cloud computing provider, located in Strasbourg, the capital of the Rhine department in France. OVH is one of Europe's largest cloud service companies. In the same year, a fire at the Ogden data center of hosting company WebNX in Utah, USA, caused IT service outages in Ogden City throughout Sunday and Monday.

On August 8, 2020, an electrical incident with reported explosions occurred at a Google data center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, USA, resulting in three injuries.

In August 2020, a fire caused by a UPS failure at Telstra's colocation data center in London, UK, led to an outage.

In November 2018, a fire broke out in a building owned by KT, one of South Korea's three major telecom operators, located in downtown Seoul. The cause was a fire in an underground cable tunnel. The fire destroyed 168,000 telephone lines and 220 sets of optical cables. Due to damage to communication equipment, this incident forced the shutdown of social infrastructure such as police, hospitals, and finance in South Korea. Ordinary telephone and emergency call systems remained paralyzed until the next day.

In August 2018, a fire occurred at a building in Tokyo, reportedly an under-construction Amazon AWS Tokyo data center. Police stated the fire was caused by sparks from an acetylene torch igniting polyurethane insulation material. The fire burned for eight hours, resulting in five deaths, fifty injuries, and the destruction of approximately one-third of the building.

At the end of June 2018, a diesel generator fire incident occurred at a data center in Beijing's Yizhuang area. This fire incident was triggered by a 30-day power restriction order issued for the Yizhuang area, which led many local data centers to start using diesel generators for load-bearing operations.

West-HN Technology Solutions

To effectively monitor the real-time status of the power and environment, various sensors and communication systems can be deployed according to the actual situation. These deployment points are connected to West-HN's professional Power and Environment Monitoring Platform, which reports data in real-time. This achieves the goal of real-time monitoring of various risk factors throughout the power and environment system. The platform integrates interfaces such as mini-programs and SMS notifications to enable timely warnings and handling of risks.

SaaS Model

SaaS Model (Software as a Service), where the application runs on cloud servers, and users access West-HN's Power and Environment Monitoring Platform via the internet. The platform connects with West-HN's sensor and transmitter products to implement monitoring functions. West-HN's SaaS platform is relatively standardized, integrating common functions needed by users related to power and environment monitoring. For customers with special functional requirements, the platform can be optimized and adjusted accordingly. The SaaS solution is the most cost-effective and reliable option.

Private Deployment

Private Deployment refers to the system being entirely deployed on customer-specified private cloud servers or local servers to achieve power and environment monitoring functions. User data is completely stored and managed by the customer themselves, offering the highest level of control for the client. For such customers, West-HN Technology can provide customized development. Currently, West-HN's private deployment solutions have been serving several major clients and are running stably.
