Application Case of Multi-Parameter Monitoring Terminal WE-NBFH02B in Outdoor Fire Hydrants

Industrial Solutions 2025-12-18 59 views

Outdoor fire hydrants are water supply facilities installed on the external fire water supply network of buildings. They are primarily used by fire trucks to draw water from municipal or outdoor fire water supply networks for firefighting operations. They can also be directly connected to hoses and nozzles to discharge water for extinguishing fires, making them one of the crucial firefighting facilities.

Currently, the maintenance of a considerable number of fire hydrants is inadequate. Issues such as water shortage, leakage, damage, and unauthorized occupation are prevalent. If hydrants fail to function during a fire, missing the critical window for fire suppression, the consequences could be dire.

The Outdoor Fire Hydrant Monitoring Terminal can monitor various status information of fire hydrants without altering their original structure. Utilizing low-power detection technology and IoT transmission technology, it wirelessly transmits alarm information regarding water discharge, temperature, pressure, vibration, etc. (via NB-IoT, standard LoRaWAN, CLAA, LinkWAN) to a server, enabling centralized supervision of fire hydrants. It addresses numerous existing management issues, including illegal theft of firefighting water, insufficient pressure in fire pipelines, hydrant collision and tilting, and weak regulatory oversight by municipal water authorities.

Features:

  • Pressure collection, high/low pressure alarm
  • Temperature monitoring
  • Anti-theft water monitoring
  • Vibration and tilt alarm
  • Anti-tamper cover alarm
  • Device satellite positioning
  • Configurable alarm thresholds

Function Introduction

Pressure Monitoring: Monitors pipeline pressure and assesses pressure conditions based on set thresholds. Under normal circumstances, it uploads pipeline pressure values according to the configured reporting interval. It immediately reports pipeline pressure when values are too low or too high.

Pipeline Temperature Monitoring: The system monitors pipeline temperature and reports immediately when the temperature falls below the set value. This function is particularly suitable for early warning in fire pipelines prone to freezing in northern regions.

Flow Velocity Monitoring: The system monitors pipeline water flow velocity to prevent on-site faults such as leaks and water theft.

Vibration and Tilt Alarm: The main unit continuously monitors the fire hydrant for strong external impacts, tilting, or other acts of vandalism.

Anti-Tamper Cover Alarm: The main unit is designed with an anti-tamper cover function to prevent vandalism and facilitate maintenance troubleshooting.

Battery Level Reporting: Monitors the voltage of the power supply battery. When uploading heartbeat data and alarm information, the voltage value is included. The management platform assesses battery performance based on the uploaded voltage and prompts users to replace the battery.

Device Positioning: The system features device positioning. After installation, there's no need to manually record the device location; the system automatically reports the latitude and longitude. This facilitates location management on the platform and avoids human operational errors.
