Electric Vehicle In-Home Charging Management Plan

Industrial Solutions 2025-12-18 405 views

Project Objectives

To standardize the management of electric vehicle (EV) indoor charging and integrate IoT technology for e-bike management, an "IoT + Big Data + AI Image" management platform is implemented. Utilizing RFID and AI video tracking combined with platform monitoring, this system aims to completely eliminate any form of e-bike or battery being brought into residential units.

The EV indoor management solution consists of RFID 2.4G Tags, RFID 2.4G Readers, video capture devices, a big data platform, and user mobile terminals (APP or official account). An indoor 2.4G Reader is installed at the essential entrance of each residential unit's main door. A 2.4G vehicle management tag is attached to the e-bike battery. When a resident carries the battery indoors, the reader captures the tag information and issues a voice alert prohibiting indoor battery charging. Simultaneously, the reader reports the data and images to the platform, which then pushes the information to the property management office for intervention. After the management personnel take and complete corrective actions, they can close the alert on the platform. The electronic tags also feature anti-tampering and access control functions to prevent unauthorized removal and to identify residents without installed tags at the community entrance. The primary goal of this project is to address community e-bike safety issues through a strategy of "blocking above and疏导 below":

Completely eliminate potential safety hazards associated with indoor EV charging (Blocking Above).

Utilize "Big Data + IoT" technology to accurately trace each e-bike and battery, thoroughly preventing safety accidents caused by indoor charging.

The community or property management will designate unified areas for charging piles and cabinets, plan orderly parking zones for e-bikes, ensuring the entire community is tidy and organized, with e-bikes kept outdoors and charging conducted safely.

RFID Application Solution

Install 2.4G Readers at the essential entrances of each building's main door. Attach vehicle electronic tags to e-bike batteries. When a resident carries a battery indoors, the reader captures the vehicle tag information and issues a warning sound to remind the resident that indoor charging is prohibited. Concurrently, the reader reports the data and images to the platform, which sends the information to the property management office for intervention. After management personnel take and complete corrective measures, they close the alert on the platform.

When a vehicle enters the signal coverage area of the 2.4G Reader, the tag ID is transmitted to the reader. The reader then issues a voice prompt stating "Carrying batteries indoors for charging is prohibited" and reports the tag data and image data to the platform.

Community Access Management

Access Management

Install 2.4G Readers at community entrances/exits to collect vehicle tag data (for e-bike users within the community). These are integrated with access control systems like barriers and automatic gates to permit passage. Upon capturing vehicle information, the reader sends the data to the platform for processing.

Tag Tampering Management

Apply conspicuous labels to all e-bikes equipped with electronic tags. Install reading devices at community gates. If the installed label is present and the reading device detects it (indicated by a light), it confirms the electronic tag is installed, undamaged, and not removed. Otherwise, it is considered uninstalled. Property personnel will remind and urge owners of e-bikes without installed tags to have them fitted.

Advantages and Features of the Management Solution

Reader Installation Method

Install the 2.4G Reader in the stairwell near the residential unit's entrance (2-3m from the main door). Set the reader's detection range to 3-6m. This ensures that when a resident carries an e-bike or its battery indoors, the reader captures the vehicle information, triggers a system warning, and reports to the platform for management.

Entrance/Exit Reader and Tag Identification

E-bikes entering the community are managed through integration with access control technology. If the tag is not removed or damaged, the installed vehicle will be detected (red light indication) and allowed entry. If identification fails, property personnel will remind the owner to install a tag.

Advantages and Features

Community e-bikes are registered and linked to unit numbers, facilitating property management: precise alert推送 (including owner's phone number and unit number). Compared to elevator control methods relying solely on video capture, which pose operational risks, cannot推送 precise vehicle/owner information for违规 alerts, and fail to识别单独 carried batteries, this solution offers distinct advantages.
